Democracy for America announced tonight that Mame Reiley, chair of the DNC Women's Caucus and a DNC voting member from Virginia, has endorsed Howard Dean for DNC Chair.
In the announcement, Reiley explains some of the reasons why she thinks that Howard Dean is the best choice for leading our party:
"I am proud to announce today my support of Howard Dean for DNC Chair. Howard Dean is committed to protecting a woman's fundamental right to choose. Governor Dean supports pay equity for women. He supports quality health care and education for all Americans," Reiley said.
Governor Dean commented on the great honor of having Mame Reiley's support. "Mame and I agree that if Democrats are going to beat back conservative politicians' attacks on our values, women must have a strong voice in the future of the Democratic Party and a seat at the table in the decision-making process," said Governor Dean. "If I am elected chairman, women will."
Mame Reiley is the Executive Director of Governor Mark Warner's One Virginia PAC and is one of Governor Warner's closest political advisors.
Reiley's endorsement comes just a day after Governor Dean received another significant Virginia endorsement from Don Beyer, former Lieutenant Governor of Virginia, Chairman of Kerry/Edwards Virginia Victory '04, and best known to most of us at Democracy for Virginia as the National Treasurer of Dean for America and the leader of the Dean campaign here in Virginia.

What a wonderful endorsement. I hope that more DNC members in Virginia can come to see that Dr. Dean is what the national party needs to rebuild itself.

In my view Mame Reilly is a Real Democrat who cares about the grassroots. She should be the next Chair of the Democratic Party of Virginia.

Dear Ms. Reiley:
My wife, the editor, and I have just finished writing a book titled" Winning the Whitehouse in 2008: A Grassroots Guide for Democrats."
A number of the other "gatekeepers" representing the other qualified candidates for president are reviewing our book.
The main thrust of the book, however, it to elect
the most qualified Democratic Party nominee in the general election.
Could you ask Monica Dixon to contact us so that she may ask further questions about our book, make recommendation, and possibly endorse the guidelines that we have suggested.
Sincerely,
Vernon Lucas Albright, Ed.D.

As a Falls Church, VA, friend of Don Beyer's for many years, I find this endorsement lacking in political acumen! The man is off the wall and is exactly what the Republicans can zero in on as a giant negative. His recent antics with pulling off the gloves with Cheney indicate his lack of style. Aa a moderate Democrat, I do not support him as a spokesperson for our party. Get him out of there! The Democrats need a middle of the road person who will mend fences, build concensus, and take on the base of the Republican agenda that is attemping to movie, all be it slowly, into the extrmem right of the national arena. The Democrats can cash in on the bad merits of the Repubican agenda if it is handled properly. Dean is not the person to spearhead that movement since he is making more enemies within the party than promoting the Democratic agenda outside of the ranks.

summer beauty is night most. No doubt beautiful , jet-black bright dark moonlit night night, also has uncounted firefly sons dance trippingly. Be also having one two fireflies son in night, be flashing with the dim gleam in flying , this scene even if being a fine drizzle's be charming.
