Special guests who will be attending this event include four great Democratic candidates for Congress from Virginia:Congressman Jim Moran (VA-8), Ken Longmyer (VA-11), James Socas (VA-10), and Virginia's only Dean Dozen candidate, Al Weed from VA-5!

At the barbecue, our Democracy for Virginia Frisbee Golf Tournament will raise money for all Democratic candidates for Congress to help their efforts to Turn Virginia Blue! Even if you cannot attend the barbecue, please give generously if you can! Our Democracy for Virginia/Turn Virginia Blue fundraising page allows you to donate to your choice of worthy candidates around the state with just one secure online transaction. Donating through this page gives "credit" to Democracy for Virginia for helping to support Democratic candidates from Virginia - please consider using it when you support our candidates in Virginia!

We look forward to a big crowd - please help us to plan by RSVPing online today. We WILL Turn Virginia Blue this year!

CD8 Candidates Forum - April 18

Democractic candidates for the House of Representatives from District 8, Andy Rosenberg and incumbent Jim Moran will appear together at a Candidates Forum on Sunday, April 18.

Congressional Candidate Forum
Sunday, April 18
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Congregation Etz Hayim
2920 Arlington Blvd.
Arlington, VA 22204

Due to the emergent nature of our fledgling organization, Democracy for Virginia will not be making an endorsement in the District 8 Democratic Primary. However, the following activities are highly recommended in order to increase the power and influence of Dean Democrats in Virginia:

  • When volunteering for your candidate of choice, identify yourself as a Dean Democrat. When phone banking or doing other work, you might choose to wear a "Dean Democrat" pin.
  • If you choose to work for Jim Moran and his endorsement of Dean is a factor in your choice, please make sure to let both Jim and his campaign manager, Dan Lucas, know that you are rewarding Moran's support of Dean.
  • Work to register voters in CD8 before Monday, May 10, the deadline for voters to register before the CD8 Democratic primary on June 8, 2004.

Onward, District 8 Dean Democrats!
